ASTROLOGY NEWS

Astro Update 10 14 08
Today at 2PM (MDT) we had the Libra/Aries Full Moon…How tobalance relationships and individually
striding out on one’s own. There’s asense of good spiritual intelligence here and beckons to each of us to
expressour own. How do we think for ourselves instead of just following the ‘pundits’of society. How do we
make our own choices when we are bombarded by those whowould lead us into the direction of their own
making.
Tomorrow, Wed. Oct.15th, at 2:06 PM, Mercury goesDirect. It’s been Retrograde since Sept.24th. We now
have two weeksto redo the thinking, communicating, situations of the last three weeks. Yeteverything starts
moving again…that’s the good news. After two weeks, we moveinto new territory, moving on…
Fall 2008 Astrology Column
October begins with Mars entering Scorpio, bringing us a deeper look at what we focus on. On the 6th, we
examine our goals, while the 9th speaks of freedom of self-expression. The Full Moon on the 14th brings
spiritual intelligence and one’s sense of things to the table. Think things through, but get off the fence of
indecision. On the 15th, Mercury goes Direct, and we begin to manifest ideas from the previous three weeks.
We enter Scorpio on the 22nd, bringing us into the time of the year of transformation. Chiron goes Direct on
the 27th and asks us to bring out ideas into our lives…just pick one. The New Moon in Scorpio on the 28th
brings trust issues to the surface, and we ask for more understanding of ephemeral matters. The month ends
with Mars trine Uranus on Halloween and it’s a day of self-confidence and championing other people’s
idiosyncrasies.
On Nov.1st, Neptune goes Direct and we have opportunities to bring the inner spiritual work we’ve been
doing since late May, into our daily lives. Things that were more vague, now may be more solid. Nov.3rd
brings a mixed day of trust issues, erratic behavior and trying to see the truth of things. Nov.4th, Election Day,
with Saturn exactly oppose Uranus pits the conservative against the innovative or expansive element. Mercury
enters Scorpio this day as well and it behooves one to look deeply. The Sun trines Uranus on the 10th and
freedom of self-expression is paramount. Nov.11th brings a day of power struggles. The Full Moon on the
12th (the 13th, EST) challenges us all to really live our spiritual beliefs, not just talk about them. Having time to
oneself can be very productive. We enter Sagittarius on the 21st, and it’s a good day to lay new groundwork.
Pluto re-enters Capricorn on the 26th, ushering in a new era that began last Jan.’08 (lasting until March,
2023). This era speaks about the breakdown of structures that no longer work, whether it’s societies or
mindsets. Nov.27th, Thanksgiving, is the New Moon in Sagittarius, bringing a dynamic quality to any
conversation and some people may feel moved to speak truths that we all may need to hear.
December begins with Sun square Mars on the 5th, pushing us to action. Avoid non-productive arguments.
Venus enters Aquarius on the 7th and we look for something different, some humanitarian work perhaps. The
Sun squares Uranus on the 10th and Mars does the same on the 11th: two days of erratic energy, change,
accidents. Be as mindful and attentive as possible. The Full Moon on the 12th carries this energy and other
aspects of being willing to look deeply. A Mutable Grand Cross, in the Full Moon chart: Take responsibility
for your freedoms and step into your personal authority. Dec.15th loosens us from fear and rigidity. The
Winter Solstice on the 21st brings several questions to bear over the next quarter: What is it that you want to
be done with, that no longer serves you. Where does transformation call you by name. Let go of what’s no
working. The Sun and Pluto are the same degree on the 22nd and the day is filled with intense possibilities.
The New Moon on the 27th brings a new cycle to implement the changes one is working on.
We go into 2009 wanting unconditional love to be part of our lives, and distancing ourselves from the limits of
narrow thinking and those who want more control-over.
Happy Holidays and New Year!

Astrology Column
April begins with Pluto stationing/going Retrograde on the 2nd, and we’re off and rolling along Pluto’s highway
of transformation, only now (until Sept.8) Pluto is working his magic inwardly. Mercury squares Pluto on the
3rd and insights are available. Mars catches up from when it went Retrograde on Nov.14th on April 4th and
we move on from all the events of the Fall. The New Moon on the 5th is a push to take care of business,
whatever that might be for each person, yet not get in your own way. There’s a need for perceptual shifts in
some areas. Power plays on the 6th, possible debates on the 10th and the 18th brings more clear-sightedness
and structure. April 20th brings the Full Moon of Taurus, long held sacred as the time Buddha was
enlightened. This Moon represents a cycle of empowerment, being able to land on your feet from choices
made. Deliberate on your spiritual path. The 21st is a stabilizing day. Earth Day (22nd) is a day of freedom of
self-expression.
May begins with Saturn going Direct on the 2nd. Looking back to the Winter Solstice, we can pick up the
threads of diet, health, discernment that have been more internalized since then. Now we can bring those ideas
into our day-to-day life and make them more real. The New Moon on the 5th brings expansiveness,
awareness of goals and moving through what’s true and what’s illusion. On the 9th-12th Jupiter goes
Retrograde and brings one’s inner goals to the surface. The Full Moon is a Blue Moon on the 19th and pushes
at places of self-limitation and opens up opportunities you never would have guessed. Emotional strength is
high. On the 22nd, frustration until you say okay to what you usually would turn away from, thinking you
couldn’t do it. Mercury goes retrograde on the 26th (until June 19th) in Gemini and we look at our
communication skills. How do we share what we see, what we know? How do we ask for what we need.
Neptune also goes Retrograde this day (until Nov.1st), and we work on our spiritual life from an inner
perspective.
June begins with a New Moon on the 3rd, bringing a lot of diversity, opportunity and unexpected insights and
situations. Expect the unexpected on the 12th. The Full Moon on the 18th includes challenges, some
confrontations. There is a grace here with relationships and being able to express feelings. Mercury goes
Direct on the 19th and we begin to regroup over the next two weeks. On the Summer Solstice (June 20) this
quarter begins and brings a highly creative energy. Power trips raise their head over the summer quarter.
Remember the right use of power is to own it and help everyone around us step into it as well. June ends with
Mars trine Pluto, a powerful day on the 30th. Transformation is the strength of the day. Happy Summer!

Winter 2008 Astrology Column
January begins with Mars oppose Pluto (2nd) and speaks of an intense beginning to a new year. Keep your
objectivity if you can. On the 6th, trust issues arise. The New Moon on the 8th is a new cycle of perseverance
and challenges arise around personal freedom vs. agreements with others. Unexpected events on the 12th, and
Mercury enters its shadow on Jan.13th. Challenges between Venus and Mars on the 19th. The Sun enters
Aquarius on the 20th and we enter the airy humanitarian freedom loving sign. The 21st is expansive with
Jupiter trine Saturn. The Full Moon on the 22nd brings a poetic cast of mind, and insights are available.
Opportunities abound and values are shifting and changing. On the 25th, Pluto enters Capricorn for the next
15 years (til Mar. 2023). The face of business will change and transform and the old model may fight for its
life. The concept of corporate America may give its death gasp and what emerges from that fire will change all
of us. This is a planetary aspect, not just a national one, so it’s the collective ‘way of doing business’ that will
be undergoing this dramatic shift. Mercury goes Retrograde on Jan.28th and we begin our journey inward,
looking at how much we walk our talk. The month closes with Mars going Direct on Jan.30th (Retrograde
since Nov.14th) and we begin to bring into our daily lives those particular issues we’ve been working on,
especially around family and health.
February 2nd (Candlemas) has Mercury square Neptune and one questions one’s spiritual beliefs. Logic and
reason are not strong qualities of the day. A Solar New Moon Eclipse on the 6th speaks of a new round of
spiritual understanding. Freedom of communication and a dynamic edge of bringing truth to daily life are all
rolled into this eclipse. On the 10th we rethink what’s really important and on the 14th we move on our
conclusions. Very dynamic day. Feb.18th brings Mercury Direct as we enter Pisces and we can use our
communications wisely and in the service of understanding. The Lunar Full Moon Eclipse on the 20th
challenges us in our places of emotional isolation, where we suffer alone. There is strength now to change old
patters. The equality of all beings is definitely a learning curve over the next two years. The 24th brings
confrontations with authority/parental figures and challenges us to own our own power.
Feb. ends with Mercury square Venus and a re-looking at what we place value on.
March begins with Mars re-entering Cancer on the 4th. We see our growth and our ability to be more
compassionate and tolerant with family and friends. The New Moon on the 7th pushes us to let go of old ways
of doing things, gracefully. Not everyone is willing, so it can feel like a psychic surgical procedure. On March
8th expect the unexpected. The 9th is a day to desire clarity amidst the fog. Venus and Mars are trine on the
16th and artistic creative energies are flying. Mercury has the strength to say what it need to say on the 18th.
The Vernal Equinox on the 20th marks the astrological new year (0 degrees Aries) and the Sun square Pluto
suggests that during this next quarter we are seeing where we give our power away, and the power struggles
that may ensue. We are learning to become our own power. The Full Moon on the 21st (also Good Friday)
has an exact T Cross with Sun and Moon opposing each other, both exactly square to Pluto…we are
challenged to take our power, embrace it, and help everyone around us to rise into theirs as well. It is one
powerful Full Moon. The month of March ends with Sun square Mars, an aspect that advises not to get in our
own way! Happy Spring!

Fall 07 Astrology Column
October begins with Venus trine Pluto on the 3rd, giving strength of change and vision. The New Moon on the
10th (MDT) brings ease of communication and a new cycle of manifesting one’s spiritual beliefs into life more
easily. Mercury goes Retrograde on the 11th (we entered the shadow of the Rx on Sept.21st), and takes us
into a more intense looking, a need to ferret out and know the deeper meanings behind the facades.
Relationships will also be peered into more closely. On the 12th, spiritual concepts seem more clear. Trust
issues arise on the 13th. Communications are strong on the 17th and we enter Scorpio on the 23rd. The Full
Moon on Oct.25th (MDT) brings deep insights and a need to keep things in perspective. Freedom needs are
strong. On Halloween/Samhain, the 31st, Neptune goes Direct and brings into the outward life spiritual matters
we’ve been working on internally since late May.
November begins with Mercury going Direct on the 1st, moving us outward into communicating with others
and moving situations along that have been fairly still the past three weeks. On Nov.4th Daylight Savings Time
ends and the Sun is trine Mars…bringing a fairly energetic and dynamic day. Power issues on the 5th and the
7th heralds a day of loving freedom and humanitarian attitudes. Live and let live! The New Moon on Nov.9th
includes a Grand Trine in Water and opportunities for healing, especially on the emotional level, are available.
Make changes where they need to be made. The 11th may feel confusing and on Nov.15th Mars goes
Retrograde (until Jan.30, 2008). This Mars Rx will bring us to look at family, nurturing, why we fight amongst
ourselves and in war. Venus and Mercury both aspect Mars on the 19th, pushing communication and a reason
to look at unsettledness in relationships. Intuition is high on the 21st and we enter Sagittarius on the 22nd…
Thanksgiving Day. A good day for philosophizing over dinner. The Full Moon on Nov.24th pushes the
learning curve for trust and faith. Can you let go of the need to figure it all out and trust your innate intelligence
to go with what shows up. Uranus goes Direct this same day and says ‘expect the unexpected’. A decidedly
different Full Moon Day! The month ends with Sun square Saturn…people balk and resist authority.
December begins with Mercury square Saturn on the 6th and is great for learning something. The 7th gives
erratic energy and changeability. The New Moon on Dec.9th is a new cycle of creativity. Go inside and trust
your own wisdom. Jupiter gives empowerment on the 11th along with a creative flow by late afternoon. The
freedom to choose is important on the 17th and on the 18th, Jupiter enters Capricorn and expands goal
setting, organization, and business ventures for the following 13 months. Saturn goes Rx on the 19th and we
begin creating inner structures along with deep insights. The Sun and Pluto dance together on Dec.20th
bringing a day of intensity. The Winter Solstice with the Sun entering Capricorn on the 21st (MDT) suggests
that sharing feelings is important right now. Challenges, debates, and unexpected turns keep us company as we
enter this winter quarter. The 22nd brings expansion and a larger vision. The Full Moon on the 23rd lays
before us the polarity of goals vs. nurturing. Situations feel polarized. Good time for learning environments. Be
clear in relationships. On Christmas Eve Day there are chances of confrontation. Be proactive in resolution-
finding. Talk it out on Christmas Day and Kwanzaa, being generous of spirit. We end the year as Dec.30th
brings a day of stability with adventurous overtones.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Summer 2007 Astrology Column
July begins with Venus and Saturn together (1st) and asks us to stabilize our trust. By the 8th we are
expanding our personal power. On July 9th, Mercury goes Direct (Retrograde since June 15th) and we begin
the process of clearing up the misunderstandings of the previous three weeks. The 10th brings a day of ‘live
and let live’. The New Moon on the 14th is a new cycle of inner life exploration and bringing one’s spiritual
values to maturity. A push for manifesting your dream is on! We enter Leo on the 22nd. Mercury catches up
and ends its cycle, moving into new territory on the 24th. Venus goes Retrograde on the 27th (until Sept.8th)
and it’s a time of looking at health and diet, beliefs and values. The Full Moon on the 29th creates an energy
flow with high intuition. Balance activity and rest. We end July with Mars square Saturn, a look at personal
energy conservation.
August begins with a day of forming future plans (2nd), expanding existing life philosophies. The 6th brings
Saturn trine Pluto, a day of personal power and the ability to transform and change whatever is in front of you.
Jupiter goes Direct also and we expand our vision of possibility. The New Moon on the 12th is a new cycle of
creativity and trust, and asks the questions: Who am I now; who have I grown to be? Venus trine Pluto on the
15th and brings as ability to set ideas in motion. On the 19th, the Sun trines Pluto and it’s a good empowering
day. The 21st is a day of strength and goal setting. We enter Virgo on the 23rd. The Lunar Full Moon Eclipse
on the 28th brings issues from the past to look at again. Relationships are going through a re-evaluation and the
energy feels erratic. Use tact where you can.
September begins with Saturn entering Virgo on the 2nd. Leo’s can breathe a sigh of relief, and now it’s
Virgos turn to take responsibility (over the next two years) for some area of their lives that call to them, that
say it’s about time. Mars and Uranus tell us on the 3rd to be careful, that the energy is erratic and paying
attention helps us avoid accidents. Pluto goes Direct on the 7th (Rx since Mar.31st) and we bring to our outer
lives the changes we’ve been working on. On the 8th, Venus goes Direct and our values and what’s important
to us beg to be included in day-to-day life. On the 9th, expect the unexpected. The New Moon Solar Eclipse
on the 11th (see editorial) has expansive energies available to us to use to our advantage. There’s a caution
against extravagance, yet tremendous healing and transformation are available. The 17th brings a day of
catalyst energies; the 18th, poetry; the 19th, power struggles. Mars opposes Pluto as Venus opposes Neptune
on the 21st and men and women both struggle in their own way toward self-expression. Potential volatility
exists. The Autumnal Equinox on the 23rd (as the Sun enters Libra) poses a theme of trust in relationships for
the next quarter. How one uses one’s personal power is there as well. Sensitivity is high as are effective
communication skills. The Harvest Full Moon on the 26th is a call to action in practical ways, a testing of
intelligence and ideas. Can you bring what you know into a form.
Happy Equinox!

Spring 07 Astrology Column
April begins with a Full Moon on the 2nd. Empowerment tempered with compassion is the key. The ability to
bring important issues into manifested form is also part of this moon pattern. Trust issues continue. On Easter
Sunday (8th) the Sun trines Saturn and things feel stable, moving forward with purpose. The next day,
expansion is the key. On the 10th insights are sharp. The New Moon on the 17th is a new cycle of working
inwardly. Work on bringing the masculine and feminine parts of yourselves more closely aligned. April 19th
brings a trine of Sun to Pluto, strength and empowerment come easily. Use your strengths without doubt. The
Sun enters Taurus on the 20th and things feel more grounded, more practical. Earth Day (22nd) has Venus
square Mars, some frustration that can lead to practical action. On the 26th, insights pay off. Trust what you
know. At month’s end, on the 28th, Mars conjuncts Uranus and it’s important to pay attention to your energy.
Unconsciousness and rash behavior brings out the accident potential.
The Full Moon on May 2nd is not an easy one. A loose Grand Cross with Sun, Moon, Saturn and Neptune.
Changes are happening and being pushed; old identities are dissolving. Who are you now? On the 6th, use
your insight to look beneath the surface and see what’s important. The 9th brings chafing with authority. Claim
your own. Sun with Neptune on the 12th and questions arise, and on Mother’s Day (13th) Mars and Pluto are
intense, so keep the peace as best you can. The New Moon on the 16th brings a sense of newness,
adventure, yet risk-taking has its price if taken too far, right now. Even though advice might be hard to hear, it
can be a big help. The Sun enters Gemini on the 21st and communications will expand over the next 30 days.
May 23rd is a good day for poetry and spiritual insights. The 24th brings Neptune’s turning inward and
deepening your understanding. Also freedom of self-expression is afoot that day. On the 30th we enter
Mercury’s shadow, for it’s next Retrograde cycle. The Blue Moon Full Moon on the 31st brings out-of-the-
blue happenings. Trust your intuition and hunches. Trust can go a long way right now. Polarities abound. See
what you can do to undo them.
June begins with Mars trine Jupiter on the 4th, a day of abundant energy to move mountains. Great time for a
project. The 9th brings unexpected freedom needs. Keep the parameters wide. The 11th is a good day to
embark on a defined goal. Sun and Neptune play well on the 13th and life feels good. The New Moon on the
14th brings a new cycle of spiritual understanding. Deal with insecurities as the arise. A lot of energy with Mars
trine Saturn trine Pluto to inspire and get things moving. Spend time getting to know self, not just others.
Mercury goes Retrograde on the 15th in Cancer and insights into our own nurturance ensues. The Sun oppose
Pluto on the 18th challenges all of our power trips. The 21st is the Summer Solstice with Mars trine
Pluto…very powerful day! Working with the shadow, the disowned parts of ourselves, brings us great gifts.
Ask into that place before bed, and see what occurs. Relationships are tenuous, yet speaking one’s feelings is
vital. Saturn and Neptune are opposing again (Feb.’07), still working on the dissolution of old ways. The Full
Moon on the 25th gives some healing opportunities in relationships. Nurturing experiences are available. Take
them in and let them warm you. Happy Summer.

Astrology Column
We begin the new year with a Full Moon on Jan.3 and Venus enters Aquarius. Personal power is strong and
goals can be set and reached. Introspection is important. Try to balance it with checking in with others. The
unexpected is unexpectedly soothing. Mars trines Saturn on the 8th and is a good day to harness energy and
accomplish something. The 13th is a day of intensity. After the 16th, with Mars entering Capricorn, working
hard pays off. The New Moon on the 18th brings a perseverance and willingness to work for what we want is
available now. Be gracious in your humanity. Help out where you can.
Trust issues arise over the next several weeks. Jan. ends with Mercury opposing Saturn on the 28th. Notice
needless worry and give your mind a focus. We enter Mercury’s shadow on the 30th.
Feb. begins with the Full Moon on Feb.1st (MST)/Feb.2nd (EST). Balancing our inner authority with the rules
and regulations of others in the world is quite a dance. Create nurturing environments for yourself. The 8th
gives spiritual insights and the 10th brings challenges of confrontation. Mercury goes Retrograde on the 13th in
Pisces and we re-look at boundaries, trust, psychic phenomenon and whether we trust our impulses, our
hunches, or whether we blow them off. The New Moon on the 17th says don’t put all your eggs in one
basket. Diversify. Weed out and sift through and decide what’s important. Venus squares Pluto on the 19th
and power struggles may ensue. The 22nd is a day of introspection, even more so with Mercury still
Retrograde. The month ends with Saturn oppose Neptune on the 28th and the last of the dissolution for this
timeframe may be completed now. That which has needed to fall away has.
March begins with the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on Mar.3rd. This Lunar Eclipse has a Grand Trine in Fire with
Venus, Saturn and Jupiter. Communication is high. A sense of adventure permeates daily life. Your life is the
Great Adventure. Take the opportunities that present themselves no matter how eccentrically they seem. On
March 5th expect the unexpected. Mercury goes Direct on the 7th allowing us the grace to clean up the past
three weeks, re-doing agreements, making amends, etc.
On the 16th, Jupiter exactly trines Saturn and Venus trines Pluto, a day of flow, of owning power, of stepping
forward. The New Moon Solar Eclipse on the 18th (MST) brings more practical considerations that are at
stake now. Some things are dissolving. Others are preparing to rise and have their moment in the Sun.
Opportunities abound in both directions. See what has your name on it. The 19th again challenges you with
confrontation, power plays and feeling disempowered. How do we take it back. The Vernal Equinox on the
20th (MDT) begins the first quarter of the astrological new year and it’s about finding one’s power and
learning something new. You know the old. What do you have to lose. On the evening of the 27th, Mercury
catches up and leaves the Retrograde cycle, stepping into new territory. The month ends with Pluto going
Retrograde on Mar.31st (until mid-Sept.) and we take what we’ve learned the previous six months and work
on it internally so that it can become a true part of us. Happy Equinox!

October begins with the Harvest Full Moon on the 6th. Insights and intuitions are strong. One’s financial world
is up for another look and spiritual concepts want to be live, not just considered. On the 9th, we enter the
shadow of Mercury Retrograde. We begin the process of going within and seeing what issues are up to deal
with. The 10th brings an easier day of exploring spiritual and musical themes. The New Moon on the 21st
(MDT) brings a new state of affairs, new cycle of dynamic possibilities. Insights, a larger view, larger picture of
what might work and where self-limitation has held reign, is the focus. A lot of transformative power available.
On the 28th, Mercury goes Retrograde in Scorpio and we dive deeply into the depths of ourselves, looking
for answers and insights. On the 29th, Neptune goes Direct (Retrograde since May 23rd) and we begin to
more fully live our spiritual principles. Mercury is conjunct Jupiter on the 30th, and gives a broader view.
November begins with Sun trine Uranus on the 3rd…a day of freedom of self expression at its core. The Full
Moon on the 5th brings a very artistic and creative cycle of time. Transformative energy is high. Questions of
self identity and where one is placing their focus/investments arise. The Transit of Mercury on Nov.8th brings
Mercury close to the Sun’s face, like Mars and Venus were a few years ago. Balancing insights without self
absorption will be key, yet personal insights are very strong. The 11th is a good day for debating. Avoid
arguments. On the 16th, trust your judgment. Mercury goes Direct on the 17th and we begin to straighten out
the misunderstandings that were rife during the Rx period. The New Moon in Scorpio on the 20th has Jupiter
in the degree of the Magician. Many things can happen here. Many changes, new ideas, new paths of action
open up. The 21st expands all of that with the Sun conjunct Jupiter. On the 22nd, we enter Sag. and life feels
a bit easier. Thanksgiving comes on the 23rd with Jupiter entering Sag. also, expanding us beyond what this
past year limited. We end November with Mars square Saturn on the 28th and it’s like a fire was lit under us.
Can we push past our self-imposed limitations.
December begins with the Full Moon on the 4th, and Mercury catches up from its Rx cycle and moves into
new territory. Standing for your freedoms, whether physical, mental or communicative, is vital now, and
standing for those who cannot speak for themselves is vital as well. Balance large view with things that need
details looked after. On the 5th, Saturn goes Retrograde and Mars enters Sag: a day to look for adventure
while taking responsibility for what’s yours also.
The 18th has Sun conjunct Pluto, a very intense day and yet empowering. The New Moon on the 20th is
about leaving the past year of Jupiter square Saturn with up and down finances behind, for a more invigorating
and enlivened year ahead. The Winter Solstice on the 21st, the last quarter of the astrological year, brings a
need to mature our views and actions. Teaching and learning situations flourish. Christmas Day brings a
Mercury conjunct Pluto aspect and one may see more deeply than usual. The mysteries of the Universe or
family issues may be equally apparent. Happy Holiday!

Summer 06 Astrology Column
We begin July with Mercury going Retrograde (Rx) on July 4th. Time to re-look and rethink issues from the
third week of June, also where our nurturing comes from and how we let it in. As always with Mercury Rx, it
is a time of inner looking, meditative and being with ourselves, even though we still communicate our needs and
wants to the outer world. Jupiter goes Direct on July 6th and later that day the Sun trines Uranus giving us a
very expansive day, a day to allow others and ourselves to be more of who we really are. The Full Moon on
the 10th, challenges our values, our visions and how we express our feelings. A lot of healing is possible with a
Grand Trine in Water this full moon also. So for each challenge, we are asked to look for the silver lining. The
14th has Mars trine Pluto and proves to be a very powerful day. The Sun leaves Cancer and enters Leo on
the 22nd. The New Moon on the 24th brings home and family into focus. It also asks how well are we doing
at growing ourselves and developing aspects of our personality. Are you in the flow of trust and allowing. Is
there room for more of these qualities in your daily life. Venus trines Jupiter on the 26th and brings an
enjoyable day and possible financial gain. And the month ends with Mercury going Direct on the 28th and we
redo the previous three weeks to a greater level of satisfaction.
August begins with the Sun conjunct Saturn on the 7th, a day of taking responsibility for what’s ours. The Full
Moon on the 9th asks us to look at the polarities we create in everyday life. How do we balance the
opposites. How do we create a conjoined focus to bring these polarities together. The evening of the 10th
brings a questioning, a curiosity leading to deeper looking with the Sun opposing Neptune. Mercury catches
up on the 11th from where it originally went Rx at on July 4th, and ends this cycle, moving now into new
territory. Mars opposes Uranus on the 13th, early in the A.M. and brings an erratic energy to the day. Keep a
cool head and awareness of energy expenditure. The Sun enters Virgo on the 23rd after midnight, and mid-
afternoon is the New Moon. Financial potential is elevated now. Insights and educational pursuits are favored.
On the 29th, Mars squares Pluto and brings volatile energy to the fore. Avoid confrontations where possible.
September begins with Pluto going Direct on the 4th, Labor Day. It’s been Rx since the end of March and
now offers opportunities for transforming deeper issues that we’ve all been working on, and brings the results
into consciousness. The Lunar Full Moon Eclipse on the 7th asks: How do we communicate in layman’s terms
what we see in the larger picture when we look at life. Trust your hunches and intuitions. Own your own
personal power. The Sun squares Pluto on the 16th and we again are asked where we are giving our power
away. On the 22nd, there is a Solar New Moon Eclipse early in the day and it’s a new cycle showing us how
complacent we’ve been on serious issues. And where, now, we must make other choices. Later on this day,
the Sun enters Libra and we have the Autumnal Equinox. This quarter of the year asks us to manifest our
beliefs and our need for balance and harmony in our personal lives, and in our global participation. How do we
focus and use our intelligence for the good of all. Happy Fall!

Astrological Fertility Cycles
Using the Sun/Moon angle in a woman’s birth chart, her fertility cycle can be found.
Originally discovered and used as a means of astrological birth control, this method has also proved successful
in reverse: being able to determine moments of fertility for those who want to conceive.
Each month, as the Sun and Moon create that same birth angle again, a woman’s fertility cycle can be charted
in that month and each month throughout the successive year.
Spring Astrology Column
April
We begin April with Saturn turning Direct on the 5th, giving us energy to turn our attention to outward goals.
Mars opposes Pluto in the wee hours of the 8th and gives us direct challenges. The day before and the day
after are potentially powerful. The Full Moon in Aires on April 13th brings us reminders of early March, only
now with greater insights. Communication is vital. Tend to deeper issues. The Sun and Pluto are moving to
exact trine (April 16th, Easter Sunday) and brings a good deal of personal power. Frustration on the 24th and
a push to become more of one’s own authority by the New Moon in Taurus (27th). This moon phase is also a
new cycle of pushing past self-limitations. Mental powers of perception are especially strong.
As the month ends, Venus squares Pluto (30th) and opportunities to see the need for a direction change
become evident to some.
May
May begins with Jupiter trine Uranus (4th) and expansiveness and just good luck are the words of the day.
The Full Moon in Taurus on the 13th suggests that one’s willingness to examine one’s spiritual beliefs is very
important now. Where is the gap between blind faith and true understanding. Power plays possible in the work
place. Look at the underpinnings to see what’s needed. Neptune goes Retrograde on the 22nd and it’s a
deeper looking that’s needed for while (until late Oct.). The Gemini New Moon on the 26th (MDT) brings
healing potential and the idea that one can manifest their vision more fully. Finances are still up and down with
Saturn and Jupiter still ‘square’ dancing. On the 31st, Mercury opposes Pluto and we may struggle to be clear
yet not offensive in our communications. We are seeing deeply.
June
June 5th wants freedom of self-expression and dances with erratic energy. On the 10th, we may feel more
spiritually viable and secure. The Gemini Full Moon on the 11th has Moon conjunct Pluto and invites deeper
emotionally transformative conversations. Opportunities to access deeper issues and heal them abound. Sun
opposes Pluto on the 16th and challenges are rampant. Keep your own counsel as much as possible. The 17th
brings a kick-start to where you’ve felt lethargic. Uranus goes Retrograde on the 19th (until mid Nov.) and we
examine our own personal freedom needs, attitudes and inequalities. June 21st, Summer Solstice and the Sun’
s entrance into Cancer, begins the next quarter of the year. The letting go of stultifying and limiting relationships
are focus. Build new foundations and solidify healthy ones. Find appropriate outlet for emotional issues. The
New Moon in Cancer on the 25th continues the revamping of relationship belief systems. Expand career
opportunities and your financial range, while maintaining a balance. We end this month with the Sun trine
Jupiter on the 30th (5:22 PM, MDT) and we see possibilities not glimpsed in a while. We feel more
celebratory.

Solar Storms
Solar activity over the next eleven years will possibly be 50 times stronger than we’ve known before. This
activity affects electromagnetic currents on the earth through communications, power grids and orbiting
satellites. Research at the U.S. National Center for Atmospheric Research measured sound waves
reverberating inside the sun. The projected peak for this solar activity is 2012.

Winter 2006 Astrology Column
We begin the New Year with the Sun trine Mars (1st) and Venus entering Capricorn. Dynamic energy and
goal setting are the sweeping energies as we step into 2006. On the 9th/10th there’s a Yod in the heavens with
Mercury and Uranus to Saturn, creating a window of insight and knowing what’s needed for the next phase.
The Full Moon of Capricorn/Cancer on the 14th bodes well for creativity, especially where finances are
concerned. Resources may not be as available through others as they have been, so coming up with creative
solutions is important. We are still involved with a Fixed Cross involving Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and Neptune
for another week or so, and choice-making and taking responsibility are the focus. The 27th brings concern
and the best approach is to look deeper and listen to your own wisdom. The New Moon of Aquarius on the
29th emphasizes the need for clear thinking. Where are we getting caught in the drama, especially others’
drama. Where can we step back and seek our own counsel, maintaining our own boundaries. The power of
ideas and independent thought is vital to look at.
February begins with Venus going Direct on the 3rd (Retrograde since Christmas Eve) so finances begin to
show improvement. The Full Moon of Aquarius on the 12th represents a balance of public/career life and
personal/home life. Intuitive knowings are right on the money. As Chiron opposes Saturn, healing experiences
and the places they are needed can be sought more easily. Mercury enters the shadow of its next Retrograde
cycle on Feb. 16th. There’s subtlety here of near misses and slight misunderstandings and delays. The 19th is
fiery and full of sparring energy. The New Moon of Pisces on the 27th brings new concepts of self, new jobs
for some, and a strengthening of the intuitive/eccentric side. Communication is high with needs to be addressed
and see where relationships need tending to. Mercury is square Pluto until the March 5th and we get to look
more deeply into matters of ultimate concern.
March begins with the unusual, freedom-loving Sun/Uranus aspect. On the 2nd, Mercury goes Retrograde
(until the 25th) and our insight depends and takes us into our own psyche. Boundaries are also an issue and
where we need to set them. March 11th brings erratic energy so it behooves one to pay attention to their
surroundings. The Lunar Full Moon Eclipse of Pisces/Virgo on the 14th squares Pluto and brings a strong
need to hone in on those places we look askance at and now have an opportunity to deal with. Trust issues
are up and beckon us closer to the fire of truth. Do we trust it and how far. March 17th gives us Sun square
Pluto and vying for power is the name of the game. Own it, share it and use it effectively: the right use of
power. The Vernal Equinox (on the 20th) as we enter Aries and Spring suggests travel and a desire to shore
up and take responsibility for personal areas of our lives: living situations, personality traits that no longer
measure up. Artistic self-expression is expanding. Mercury goes Direct on March 25th and we have the
following two weeks to clear up the previous three weeks business: misunderstandings and disagreements, etc.
The Solar New Moon Eclipse in Aires on the 29th bodes well for risk-taking, yet stability and perseverance
underlie those energies as well. New financial pictures are emerging for consideration. Challenges loom over us
next week as Mars nears the exact opposition to Pluto. Set the tone, ride the wave and see what’s wanting to
come forward.
